Dec 14, 2002 Roseville, CA - Hamburg Germany :   - The Rice Company - TRC group - announces it has acquired inventories, open contracts, part contracts and open frame contracts for merchandise and freight covering the feed ingredient business of the Krohn Division of Louis Dreyfus Corp., Wilton/Conn. and Nethgrain BV of Rotterdam. The Rice Company will assume rights and obligations associated with the open portions of such contracts – sales and purchases – not shipped as of December 6, 2002. The Rice Company further announces that Messrs. Ludwig Gunther and Burghard Jurgensen of Hamburg, Germany and Donald P. Morrison of Fairfield, Connecticut have joined The Rice Company as of December 6, 2002 and are  conducting the feed ingredient trading and shipping business for the Krohn Division of The Rice Company. In the USA The Rice Company will conduct it's feeds and by-products business in the name of The Rice Company – Krohn Division, in Europe it will become active as The Rice Company (Suisse) S.A. – Krohn Division. Marketing and logistic activities of the Krohn Division will be assisted by TRC-Krohn, Gesellschaft fur Marketing und Logistik mbH., Hamburg, Germany, acting as agents for The Rice Company – Krohn Division.
